Dispute Best Practices
The best time to prevent a dispute is before the job starts. These habits protect you and create a clear record if an issue is ever raised.
Document Everything
- 1
Take before and after photos
- Photograph the vehicle — especially the service area — before you begin any work
- Take after photos once the job is complete
- This is your strongest evidence if a damage claim is filed
- 2
Confirm scope in writing
- Use in-app messaging to confirm exactly what is being done before starting
- A written record is far more defensible than a verbal conversation
On the Job
- 1
Do not start unclear work
- If the scope exceeds what was quoted, clarify before you begin — not during or after
- 2
Stay professional at all times
- All in-app communications are reviewable by the team during a dispute
- Professional, clear communication helps your case — aggressive responses hurt it
After the Job
- 1
Mark Completed promptly
- Mark the job Completed as soon as work is done — this starts the 48-hour dispute clock
- Delays in marking complete create ambiguity about when the job actually finished
